     Maria Clarance Smith was born on 16 January 1835 at Highbury Crescent, London, England.1 She was the daughter of Benjamin Smith and Maria Lavers.1 She married Henry Lee, son of Henry Charles Lee and Lucy Cover, on 23 September 1857 at Hornsey Church, Essex, England.1 She died on 7 December 1920 at age 85 at Earlham, Littlehampton, Sussex, England.1 She was buried at Lee family vault, Highgate Cemetery, Highgate, London, England.1
      From 23 September 1857, her married name became Lee.1

     Henry Lee was born circa 1844 at Highbury Grove, London, England.1 He was the son of Henry Charles Lee and Lucy Cover.1 He married Maria Clarance Smith, daughter of Benjamin Smith and Maria Lavers, on 23 September 1857 at Hornsey Church, Essex, England.1 He died on 27 December 1908 at Earlham, Littlehampton, Sussex, England.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He was a trustee of the Cheshunt Ecclesiastical College, where he founded the Lee Scholarship.1 He was a director of the London Missionary Society.1
