     John Cowper was the son of Sir William Cowper, 1st Bt. and Martha Master.1,2 He married Martha Hewkley, daughter of George Hewkley.2 He died before 1664, in prison.2
     John Cowper was admitted to Lincoln's Inn on 20 January 1631/32.1 He was imprisoned for his loyalty to King Charles I.2
