Sir Charles Smyth, 5th Bt. was baptised on 12 October 1711 at St. James' Church, Westminster, London, England.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Smyth, 3rd Bt. and Anne Hedges.1 He married Elizabeth Burgess, daughter of John Burgess, on 11 August 1760.1 He died on 24 March 1773 at age 61, without male issue.1 He was buried on 1 April 1773 at Theydon Mount, Essex, England.1 His will (dated 24 May 1769) was probated on 3 April 1773.1
