     Cynthia Swire was the daughter of Captain Douglas William Swire.² She married Captain Christopher Alexander James, son of Admiral Sir William Milbourne James and Dorothy Alexandra Duff, on 6 April 1938.¹ She died on 9 April 1971.¹
     From 6 April 1938, her married name became James.¹
