Godard John George Charles Bentinck was born on 3 August 1857.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Charles Anthony Ferdinand Bentinck, 4th Graf Bentinck and Caroline Mechtild Emma Charlotte Christine Luise Gräfin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont.1 He married Countess Augustine Wilhelmine Louise Adrienne de Bylandt, daughter of Count Auguste de Bylandt, on 12 June 1884.1 He died on 4 January 1940 at age 82.1
He was invested as a Knight of Justice, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (K.J.St.J.).1 He was Coadjutor of the Teutonic Order.1 He lived at Amerongen Castle, The Netherlands.1
