     Sophia Newnham was born circa 1790.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Newnham.1 She married Hon. William Cust, son of Brownlow Cust, 1st Baron Brownlow of Belton and Frances Bankes, on 8 July 1819.1 She died on 18 January 1884.1
     From 8 July 1819, her married name became Cust.

Captain William Purey Cust1

     Captain William Purey Cust was born on 8 August 1821.1 He was the son of Hon. William Cust and Sophia Newnham.1 He married Emma Matilda Chaplin, daughter of William Chaplin and Emma Frankland, on 9 May 1844 at Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1,2 He died on 11 February 1865 at age 43.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Army.1 He was Equerry to HRH the Duchess of Cambridge.1

     Very Rev. Arthur Perceval Purey-Cust was born on 21 February 1828.1 He was the son of Hon. William Cust and Sophia Newnham.1 He married Lady Emma Bess Bligh, daughter of Edward Bligh, 5th Earl of Darnley and Hon. Emma Jane Parnell, on 6 June 1854.1 He died on 23 December 1916 at age 88.1
     He was given the name of Arthur Perceval Cust at birth.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Dean of York between 1880 and 1916.1 He held the office of Precenter of York between 1908 and 1916.1
