     David Jardine of Jardinehall was born on 4 August 1847.1 He was the son of James Jardine and Jessie Johnstone.1 He married Mary Angela Bright, daughter of Sir Charles Tilston Bright, on 14 January 1886.1 He died on 23 August 1922 at age 75,, leaving issue.1
     David Jardine of Jardinehall graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was barrister.1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office in 1896.1 He lived at Jardinehall, Lockerbie, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1

     Mary Angela Bright was the daughter of Sir Charles Tilston Bright.1 She married David Jardine of Jardinehall, son of James Jardine and Jessie Johnstone, on 14 January 1886.1 She died on 1 April 1924.1

     Sir Robert Jardine of Castlemilk, 1st Bt. was born on 24 May 1825.1 He was the son of David Jardine and Rachel Johnstone.1 He married Margaret Seton Hamilton, daughter of John Buchanan Hamilton, in April 1867.1 He died on 17 February 1905 at age 79.1
     Sir Robert Jardine of Castlemilk, 1st Bt. was head of the firm of Jardine, Matheson, China merchants in 1865.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Ashburton between 1865 and 1868.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Dumfries Burghs between 1868 and 1874.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Dumfries-shire between 1880 and 1892.1 He was created 1st Baronet Jardine, of Castlemilk, co. Dumfries [U.K.] on 20 July 1885.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Perthshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire.1

     Sir Robert William Buchanan Jardine of Castlemilk, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 January 1868.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Jardine of Castlemilk, 1st Bt. and Margaret Seton Hamilton.1 He married Ethel Mary Piercy, daughter of Benjamin Piercy, on 4 July 1894.1 He died on 30 January 1927 at age 59.1
     Sir Robert William Buchanan Jardine of Castlemilk, 2nd Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was head of the firm of Jardine, Matheson, China merchants.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 1st Battalion, Dumfriesshire Voluntary Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 3rd Volunteer Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Jardine, of Castlemilk, co. Dumfries [U.K., 1885] on 17 February 1905.1
