     Matilda Cookson was the daughter of Thomas Cookson and Elizabeth Selby.2,3 She married Sir Richard Pierce Butler, 9th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Butler, 8th Bt. and Frances Clarke, on 28 May 1835.1 She died on 18 September 1893.1 She was buried at Clonmulah, Ireland.3
     From 28 May 1835, her married name became Butler.

     Richard Pierce Butler was born on 30 April 1839.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Pierce Butler, 9th Bt. and Matilda Cookson.2 He married Florence Isabel Hamilton, daughter of Hans Henry Hamilton, on 15 November 1864.1 He died on 21 March 1912 at age 72.1
     Richard Pierce Butler gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 78th Higlanders.1

     Hans Pierce Butler was born in March 1880.1 He was the son of Richard Pierce Butler and Florence Isabel Hamilton.2 He married, firstly, Lenora Agnes Selina Moulson, daughter of William Edward Spurstow Moulson, on 30 December 1908.1 He married, secondly, Maude (?) in November 1932.3 He died in 1940.3
