     Janet Bruce is the daughter of William Bruce of Stanstill.2 She married Sir James Sinclair, son of Sir John Sinclair and Janet Sutherland.1
     Her married name became Sinclair.

     William Sinclair of Rattar was the son of Sir James Sinclair and Janet Bruce.2 He married, secondly, Jean Cunningham, daughter of John Cunningham of Geise and Brownhill.3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Sinclair, daughter of John Sinclair of Ulbster and Jean Chisholm, circa 24 March 1642.3 He died after 4 May 1663.3
     William Sinclair of Rattar lived at Rattar, Scotland.3
     He had three other sons and a daughters by his second wife.3

     John Sinclair of Ulbster was born illegitimately before 1598.1 He was the son of William Sinclair and Margaret Mowat.1 He married Jean Chisholm.
     In 1607 he was legitimated.1
