     Sir George Charles Pratt, 2nd Marquess Camden was born on 2 May 1799 at Arlington Street, London, England.3 He was the son of Sir John Jeffreys Pratt, 1st Marquess Camden and Frances Molesworth.2 He married Harriet Murray, daughter of Rt. Rev. George Murray and Lady Sarah Maria Hay-Drummond, on 27 August 1835 at Bromley Palace, Kent, England.3 He died on 6 August 1866 at age 67 at Bayham Abbey, Sussex, England, from heart disease, being found dead in his bed.3 He was buried on 13 August 1866 at Seale, Kent, England.3 His will was probated on 16 November 1866, at under £200,000.3
     Sir George Charles Pratt, 2nd Marquess Camden was educated between 1810 and 1815 at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.4,5 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1819 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Ludgershall between 1821 and 1826.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Bath between 1826 and 1830.4 He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty between 1828 and 1829.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Dunwich between 1831 and 1832.4 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1835.3 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Camden of Camden Place, in Chislehurst, co. Kent [G.B., 1765] on 8 January 1835, during his father's lifetime.4 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Marquess Camden [U.K., 1812] on 8 October 1840.4 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Viscount Bayham of Bayham Abbey, co. Sussex [G.B., 1786] on 8 October 1840.4 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Earl of the County of Brecknock [U.K., 1812] on 8 October 1840.4 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl Camden [G.B., 1786] on 8 October 1840.4 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 19 January 1846.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Brecknockshire between 1865 and 1866.4
