Sir George Charles Pratt, 2nd Marquess Camden was born on 2 May 1799 at Arlington Street, London, England.3 He was the son of Sir John Jeffreys Pratt, 1st Marquess Camden and Frances Molesworth.2 He married Harriet Murray, daughter of Rt. Rev. George Murray and Lady Sarah Maria Hay-Drummond, on 27 August 1835 at Bromley Palace, Kent, England.3 He died on 6 August 1866 at age 67 at Bayham Abbey, Sussex, England, from heart disease, being found dead in his bed.3 He was buried on 13 August 1866 at Seale, Kent, England.3 His will was probated on 16 November 1866, at under £200,000.3
