Archibald Campbell of Succoth1

     Archibald Campbell of Succoth was born circa 1703.1 He was the son of William Campbell of Succoth and Margaret Walkinshaw.2 He married Helen Wallace, daughter of John Wallace of Elderslie, in 1731.1 He died in 1790.1
     He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1728.1 In 1769 he sold the Elderslie estate to Alexander Speirs.1 He was Principal Clerk of Session in 1770.1 He was Deputy Keeper of the Great Seal.1 He was Commissary Principal of Glasgow.1

     Archibald Murray of Murrayfield was born circa 1715 at Murrayfield, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of Alexander Murray and Susan Douglas.3 He married Jane Hay, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Lord William Hay and Margaret Hay.3
     He was Sheriff Depute Peeblesshire, a Commissioner of Edinburgh.3 Acquired the Nisbet estate, nr Edinburgh, later called Murrayfield.3

     Susan Mary Murray was born circa 1745 at Murrayfield, Midlothian, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Archibald Murray of Murrayfield and Jane Hay.3,2 She married Sir Ilay Campbell of Succoth, 1st Bt., son of Archibald Campbell of Succoth and Helen Wallace, on 13 November 1765.1
      From 13 November 1765, her married name became Campbell.1

     She was a writer and journalist.1
