     Sir William Lindsay of the Byres was the son of Sir William de Lindsay of the Byres and Christiana Mure.1 He married Christiana Keith, daughter of Sir William Keith and Margaret Fraser.2 He died in 1414.3
     He received the territorial Barony and Castle of Dunnottar, Kincardineshire through his wife, which he later exchanged for Struthers, Fife.3

     David Lindsay, 2nd Lord Lindsay of the Byres was the son of John Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Agnes Stewart.1 He married Janet Ramsay, daughter of Walter Ramsay of Carnock and Pitcruvie, from 16 April 1458 to 14 January 1458/59.1 He died in 1490, without issue.1
     David Lindsay, 2nd Lord Lindsay of the Byres gained the title of 2nd Lord Lindsay of the Byres [S., 1444] on 6 February 1482.1 He fought in the Battle of Suachieburn in 1488, for King James I at the head of 1000 horse and 3000 foot.1
