William Forbes, 11th Lord Forbes was the son of Lt.-Gen. Alexander Forbes, 10th Lord Forbes and Anne Forbes.2 He married, firstly, Jean Campbell, daughter of John Campbell of Cawdor and Elizabeth Urquhart, in 1648.1 He married, secondly, Lady Anna Erskine, daughter of Alexander Erskine, Viscount Fentoun and Lady Anne Seton, circa 26 March 1668.2 He married, thirdly, Barbara Forbes, daughter of unknown Forbes of Asloun, circa 11 December 1682.2 He died in 1697.3
He succeeded to the title of 11th Lord Forbes [S., 1445] on 20 April 1672.2
