     Sir Patrick Lindsay, 8th Earl of Lindsay was born on 24 February 1778. He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Lindsay and Margaret Maria Halkett. He died on 14 July 1839 at age 61, no issue.
     Sir Patrick Lindsay, 8th Earl of Lindsay gained the title of 7th Viscount of Garnock. He gained the title of 8th Earl of Lindsay.

     Patrick Lindsay, 6th Lord Lindsay of the Byres was the son of John Lindsay, 5th Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Helen (?). He married Euphemia Douglas, daughter of Sir Robert Douglas. He died on 11 December 1589.
     Patrick Lindsay, 6th Lord Lindsay of the Byres gained the title of 6th Lord Lindsay of the Byres.
