     Lt.-Col. John Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay and Margaret Monteir.1 He married Margaret Maria Halkett, daughter of Charles Hackett Craigie Halkett, in 1776.1 He died on 8 April 1780.1
     Lt.-Col. John Lindsay gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 53rd Foot.1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Patrick Lindsay was born on 24 February 1778.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Lindsay and Margaret Maria Halkett.1 He died on 14 March 1839 at age 61, without issue.1

     Lady Helen Stewart was the daughter of John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Atholl.1 She married, firstly, John Lindsay, 5th Lord Lindsay of the Byres, son of Sir John Lindsay, Master of Lindsay and Elizabeth Lundie.1 She married, thirdly, Thomas Moncur in 1563.1 She died in 1577.1
     Her married name became Lindsay.1 From 1563, her married name became Moncur.1
