Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 February 1867.1 He was the son of Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 1st Bt. and Eliza Spiers.2 He married, firstly, Lady Diana Montgomerie, daughter of Archibald William Montgomerie, 14th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Sophia Adelaide Theodosia Pelham, on 14 December 1889.3 He married, secondly, Rachel Belasyse Holden, daughter of Reverend Henry Holden, on 28 January 1896.1 He and Lady Diana Montgomerie were divorced in 1894.1 He died on 18 March 1945 at age 78.3
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Alexander, of Ballochmyle [U.K., 1886] on 23 May 1899.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ayrshire.1 He lived at Ballochmyle, Ayrshire, Scotland.1
