     George Hay Dawkins-Pennant was born in 1764.2 He was the son of Colonel Henry Dawkins and Lady Juliana Colyear.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Sophia Maria Maude, daughter of Cornwallis Maude, 1st Viscount Hawarden and Mary Allen, on 25 June 1807 at Hawarden, County Tipperary, IrelandG.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Bouverie, daughter of Hon. William Henry Bouverie and Lady Bridget Douglas, on 4 May 1814.4 He died on 17 December 1840.5
     He was given the name of George Hay Dawkins at birth.4 He lived at Penrhyn Castle, Caernarvonshire, WalesG.5 In 1808 his name was legally changed to George Hay Dawkins-Pennant on succceeding to the estates of his father's cousin, Richard, Lord Penrhyn.4 He inherited the Penrhyn estates from his great-uncle Richard Pennant, 1st and last Baron Penrhyn, of Penrhyn, co. Louth.5

     Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 February 1867.1 He was the son of Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 1st Bt. and Eliza Spiers.2 He married, firstly, Lady Diana Montgomerie, daughter of Archibald William Montgomerie, 14th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Sophia Adelaide Theodosia Anderson-Pelham, on 14 December 1889.2 He married, secondly, Rachel Belasyse Holden, daughter of Reverend Henry Holden, on 28 January 1896.1 He and Lady Diana Montgomerie were divorced in 1894.1 He died on 18 March 1945 at age 78.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Alexander, of Ballochmyle [U.K., 1886] on 23 May 1899.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ayrshire.1 He lived at Ballochmyle, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.1
