William Gibson, 2nd Baron Ashbourne was born on 16 December 1868 at 20 Upper Pembroke Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of Edward Gibson, 1st Baron Ashbourne and Frances Maria Adelaide Colles.1 He married Marianne de Monbrison, daughter of Henri Roger Conquerré de Monbrison, on 7 January 1896.1 He died on 21 January 1942 at age 73, without issue.2
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Ashbourne, of Ashbourne, co.
