     John Dermot Campbell was born on 20 January 1898.4 He was the son of Robert Garrett Campbell and Alicia Anne Ferguson.2,3 He married Josephine Patricia McConnell, daughter of Sir Joseph McConnell, 2nd Bt. and Lisa McGowan, on 12 February 1930.1 He died on 23 January 1945 at age 47, missing, presumed dead in an air accident.5
     John Dermot Campbell was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.4 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.4 He fought in the First World War, in the Royal Artillery.4 He was director of H. Campbell & Company Ltd, flax spinners.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Antrim between 1943 and 1945.4 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Antrim.1 He lived at Mossley, County Antrim, Ireland.4
