     Alice Maule-Ramsay was born on 2 May 1853 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 She was the daughter of Hon. William Maule-Ramsay and Elizabeth Binny.1 She was baptised on 27 May 1853 at St. John's the Evangelist, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 She died on 27 January 1890 at age 36 at London, England.1,2

     Lt.-Col. Hon. James Ramsay was born on 4 October 1772.1 He was the son of George Ramsay, 8th Earl of Dalhousie and Elizabeth Glen.1 He died on 15 November 1837 at age 65, unmarried.1
     Lt.-Col. Hon. James Ramsay gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 2nd Foot.1

     Maj.-Gen. James Ramsay gained the rank of Major-General in the service of the Bengal Army.1
