Admiral George Ramsay, 12th Earl of Dalhousie1

     Admiral George Ramsay, 12th Earl of Dalhousie was born on 26 April 1806.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Hon. John Ramsay and Mary Delise.1 He married Sarah Frances Robertson, daughter of William Robertson, on 12 August 1845.1 He died on 20 July 1880 at age 74.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1856.1 He gained the rank of Admiral.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the South American Station between 1866 and 1869.1 He succeeded as the 12th Lord Ramsay of Carrington [S., 1633] on 6 July 1874.1 He succeeded as the 13th Lord Ramsay of Dalhousie [S., 1619] on 6 July 1874.1 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Dalhousie, co. Midlothian [S., 1633] on 6 July 1874.1 He was created 1st Baron Ramsay of Glenmark, co. Forfar [U.K.] on 12 June 1875.1

Sarah Frances Robertson1

     Sarah Frances Robertson was the daughter of William Robertson.1 She married Admiral George Ramsay, 12th Earl of Dalhousie, son of Lt.-Gen. Hon. John Ramsay and Mary Delise, on 12 August 1845.1 She died on 1 May 1904.1
     Her married name became Ramsay. After her marriage, Sarah Frances Robertson was styled as Countess of Dalhousie on 6 July 1874.

Lt.-Gen. Hon. John Ramsay1

     Lt.-Gen. Hon. John Ramsay was born on 21 April 1775.1 He was the son of George Ramsay, 8th Earl of Dalhousie and Elizabeth Glen.1 He married Mary Delise, daughter of Philip Delise, on 19 April 1800.1 He died on 28 June 1842 at age 67.1
     He was Commander-in-Chief of the 79th Highlanders.1 He was Military Secretary to the Governor-General of Canada, the 9th Earl of Dalhousie between 1819 and 1828.1 He was Military Secretary to the Viceroy of India, the 9th Earl of Dalhousie between 1829 and 1832.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the General Staff, India.1

Mary Delise1

     Mary Delise was the daughter of Philip Delise.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Hon. John Ramsay, son of George Ramsay, 8th Earl of Dalhousie and Elizabeth Glen, on 19 April 1800.1 She died on 28 October 1843.1
     Her married name became Ramsay.

     William Maule-Ramsay, 1st Lord Panmure was born on 27 October 1771.1 He was the son of George Ramsay, 8th Earl of Dalhousie and Elizabeth Glen.1 He married, firstly, Patricia Heron Gordon, daughter of Gilbert Gordon and Margaret Stewart, on 1 December 1794.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Barton, daughter of John William Barton, on 4 June 1822.1 He died on 13 April 1852 at age 80.1
     He was given the name of William Ramsay at birth.1 In 1782 his name was legally changed to William Maule-Ramsay.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfar between 1796 and 1831.1 He was created 1st Lord Panmure, of Bechin, and Navar, Forfar [U.K.] on 10 September 1831.1

     Elizabeth Barton was the daughter of John William Barton.1 She married, firstly, William Maule-Ramsay, 1st Lord Panmure, son of George Ramsay, 8th Earl of Dalhousie and Elizabeth Glen, on 4 June 1822.1 She married, secondly, Bonamy Mansell Power on 26 April 1856.1 She died on 25 June 1867, without issue.1
     From 4 June 1822, her married name became Maule-Ramsay.1 From 26 April 1856, her married name became Power.
