     Maria Coote was the daughter of Charles Purdon Coote and Lydia Lucy Wingfield-Digby.2 She married Henry M. Smythe on 3 December 1855.1 She died on 2 April 1882 at Barbaville, County Westmeath, Ireland, murdered.1
     From 3 December 1855, her married name became Smythe.
