     Lt.-Gen. James Montgomerie was born on 26 February 1755.1 He was the son of Alexander Montgomerie and Lillias Montgomerie.2 He married Harriet Elizabeth Jackson, daughter of Thomas Jackson, in 1810.1 He died on 13 April 1829 at age 74, without issue.1
     Lt.-Gen. James Montgomerie gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.1
