     Her married name became Hamilton.1 From 10 September 1708, her married name became Montgomerie.1

     Evelyn Mary Mackessack was born on 1 May 1924.1 She is the daughter of Captain Robert John Mackessack and Ada Mary Frances Gore.1 She married Major Robert Henry Brydges Oates, son of Colonel H. A. Oates, on 19 June 1954.1
     Evelyn Mary Mackessack usually went by her middle name of Mary.1 From 19 June 1954, her married name became Oates.1

     Alexander Montgomerie was born before 1720. He was the son of Hugh Montgomerie and Katherine Arbuckle.1,2 He married Lillias Montgomerie, daughter of Sir Robert Montgomerie, 5th Bt., on 11 June 1735.1 He died on 28 December 1783.1
     Alexander Montgomerie lived at Coylsfield, Scotland.1

     Sir Hugh Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton was born on 5 November 1739.1 He was the son of Alexander Montgomerie and Lillias Montgomerie.2 He married Eleanora Hamilton, daughter of Robert Hamilton, circa 3 June 1772.1 He died on 14 December 1819 at age 80.1
     Sir Hugh Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton was commissioned in 1756, in the service of the British Army.1 He fought in the American War of Independence.1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Edinburgh Castle.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Ayrshire between 1780 and 1781.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Ayrshire between 1784 and 1789.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ayrshire between 1796 and 1819.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Ayrshire between June 1796 and October 1796.1 He succeeded to the title of 13th Lord Montgomerie [S., 1445] on 30 October 1796.3 He succeeded to the title of 12th Earl of Eglinton [S., 1507] on 30 October 1796.3 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1798 and 1806.1 He rebuilt Eglinton Castle, constructed Ardrossan Harbour and the Paisley Canal.1 He was created 1st Baron Ardrossan, of Ardrossan, co. Ayr [U.K.] on 15 February 1806.1 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) in 1812.1

     Lady Mary Montgomerie was the daughter of General Archibald Montgomerie, 11th Earl of Eglinton and Frances Twysden.1 She married, firstly, Maj.-Gen. Archibald Montgomerie, Lord Montgomerie, son of Sir Hugh Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton and Eleanora Hamilton, on 29 March 1803.2 She married, secondly, Sir Charles Montolieu Lamb, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Bland Lamb, 1st Bt. and Anne Montolieu, on 30 June 1815.1 She died on 12 June 1848 at Clifford Street, London, England.1
     From 30 June 1815, her married name became Lamb.

     Eleanora Hamilton was the daughter of Robert Hamilton.1 She married Sir Hugh Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton, son of Alexander Montgomerie and Lillias Montgomerie, circa 3 June 1772.1 She died in February 1817.1
     From circa 3 June 1772, her married name became Montgomerie. As a result of her marriage, Eleanora Hamilton was styled as Countess of Eglinton on 30 October 1796.

Archibald Montgomerie, Lord Montgomerie was born on 30 July 1773.1 He was the son of Sir Hugh Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton and Eleanora Hamilton.1 He married Lady Mary Montgomerie, daughter of General Archibald Montgomerie, 11th Earl of Eglinton and Frances Twysden, on 29 March 1803.2 He died on 4 January 1814 at age 40 at Alicante, Spain.1

     Sir Charles Montolieu Lamb, 2nd Bt. was born on 8 July 1785 at Nantcribba Hall, Montgomeryshire, Wales.2 He was the son of Sir James Bland Lamb, 1st Bt. and Anne Montolieu.2 He married, firstly, Lady Mary Montgomerie, daughter of General Archibald Montgomerie, 11th Earl of Eglinton and Frances Twysden, on 30 June 1815.2 He married, secondly, Frances Margesson, daughter of Reverend William Margesson and Mary Frances Cooke, on 28 October 1853 at Geneva, Switzerland.2 He died on 21 March 1860 at age 74 at Beauport.3,4
     Sir Charles Montolieu Lamb, 2nd Bt. gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Ayrshire Yeomanry.2 He held the office of Knight Marshal of the Royal Household between 1824 and 1864.2 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Burges [G.B., 1795] on 1 December 1824.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Sussex between 1829 and 1830.2
