Reverend Patrick Boyle was born on 7 January 1717 at Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of John Boyle, 2nd Earl of Glasgow and Helen Morison.1 He married, firstly, Agnes Mure, daughter of William Mure of Caldwell, on 14 August 1749.1 He married by contract, secondly, Elizabeth Dunlop, daughter of Alexander Dunlop, on 31 March 1763.1 He died on 26 February 1798 at age 81.1

David Boyle was born on 26 July 1772 at Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland.3 He was the son of Reverend Patrick Boyle and Elizabeth Dunlop.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie and Elizabeth Taylor, on 24 December 1804.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Campbell Smythe, daughter of David Smythe, on 17 July 1827.4 He died on 4 February 1853 at age 80 at Middlesex, Butler, Pennsylvania, U.S.A..3
