     Katharine Sophia Herbert was born illegitimately circa 1705.1 She was the daughter of Sir John Sheffield, 1st Duke of the County of Buckingham and of Normanby and Frances Stewart.1 She married, firstly, Dr. Joseph Hunt between 1722 and 1726.1 She married, secondly, Charles Cole in 1729.1 She married, thirdly, Joseph Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Judtih (?), on 29 June 1734.1 She died on 13 January 1780.1
     Katharine Sophia Herbert usually went by her middle name of Sophia.1 From between 1722 and 1726, her married name became Hunt.1 From between 1729 and 1733, her married name became Cole.1 From 29 June 1734, her married name became Cox.1
