John Bayly was born on 3 September 1805.2 He was the son of John Bayly and Mary Elizabeth Helena Uniacke.2 He married, firstly, Catherine Yates, daughter of Thomas Yates, on 13 May 1829.2 He married, secondly, Catherine Gertrude Armstrong, daughter of William Henry Armstrong and Bridget Macdonnell, on 17 October 1839.2 He died on 14 May 1865 at age 59.1
