George Bagenal was the son of Dudley Bagenal and Mabel Fitzgerald.1 He married, firstly, Jane Fitzgerald, daughter of Garrett Fitzgerald.1 He married, secondly, Lady Joane Butler, daughter of Walter Butler, 11th Earl of Ormonde.1 He died in 1625.1
George Bagenal lived at Dunleckney Manor, County Carlow, Ireland.2 He was the builder of the family house at Dunleckney, where the nearby town is now called Bagenalstown, County Carlow, Ireland.1 He inherited his half-brother's estates, confirmed by Letters Patent in 1610.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Carlow in 1613.1 He lived at Ballymoon Castle, County Carlow, Ireland.1
