     Lt.-Gen. Charles Barton was born on 20 April 1760.2 He was the son of William Barton and Grace Massy.1 He married Susannah Johnston, daughter of Nathaniel Weld Johnston, in February 1800.2 He died on 11 June 1819 at age 59.2
