Archibald Moncreiffe was the son of Sir William Moncreiffe and Jean Oliphant.2 He married Margaret Auchinleck, daughter of unknown Auchinleck.1 He died in 1633.1
Archibald Moncreiffe was Minister of Abernethy in 1586.1 He was hereditary Prior of Elcho in 1600.1 In 1610 he exchanged the hereditary Prior of Elcho for the old Moncreiffe estate of Balgony.3 He was ancestor of the Barons Moncreiff.1

Sir John Moncreiffe was the son of Sir William Moncreiffe and Jean Oliphant.2 He married Jean Spens, daughter of John Spens of Condie.1 He died after November 1635.1
Sir John Moncreiffe held the office of Sheriff Depute of Perthshire.1 He was a practising Advocate.1 In 1592 Easter Moncreiffe was erected into a free Barony for him, giving its lairds the same powers of life and death as those already held by the Lairds of Moncreiffe.1
