Sir John Moncreiffe, 9th of that Ilk was the son of John Moncreiffe, 8th of that Ilk and Margaret Levingston.2 He married Beatrix Forman, daughter of unknown Forman.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England, killed in action.3

William Moncreiffe, 11th of that Ilk was the son of William Moncreiffe of that Ilk, younger and Jean Oliphant.2 He married Anne Murray, daughter of Robert Murray of Abercairny, in 1586.1 He died on 27 September 1624.1
He was the last to have the hereditary right to sit in the Scottish Parliament as a feudal Baron before the statute providing for the election of Commissioners to represent the barons.1 He was Gentleman of the King's Chamber in 1580.1 In 1599 he sold Highland lands of Culdares and Duneaves to buy the Fife barony of Carnbee.1
