Henry Kerr Cranstoun was the son of Hon. George Cranstoun and Maria Brisbane.2 He married, firstly, Christiana Smart.1 He married, secondly, Mary Jane Whitefoord, daughter of Sir John Whitefoord of Whitefoord, 1st Bt., in 1803.1 He died in 1843.1

George Cranstoun, Lord Corehouse was a practising Advocate.1 He entailed the Corehouse estate whereby it ultimately passed to his sister's daughters then their brother's sons.1 He lived at Corehouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He was styled as Lord Corehouse [Scottish Law Lord] in 1826.1 He held the office of Lord of Session in 1826.1
