     Brampton Gurdon was born on 25 September 1797.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Theophilus Thornhagh Gurdon and Anne Mellish.2 He married Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne, daughter of Nicholas William Ridley-Colborne, 1st and last Baron Colborne of West Harling, on 12 August 1828.1 He died on 28 April 1881 at age 83.1
     Brampton Gurdon held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Norfolk.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Norfolk.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1855.1 He lived at Grundisburgh, Suffolk, England.1 He lived at Letton, Norfolk, England.1

     Rt. Hon. Sir William Brampton Gurdon was born on 5 September 1840.1 He was the son of Brampton Gurdon and Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne.2 He married Lady Eveline Camilla Wallop, daughter of Isaac Newton Wallop, 5th Earl of Portsmouth, on 20 September 1887.1 He died on 31 May 1910 at age 69, without issue.1
     Rt. Hon. Sir William Brampton Gurdon was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.).1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.).1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Norfolk between 1899 and 1910.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk in 1907.1 He lived at Assington Hall, Suffolk, England.1
