     James Hampton was born in 1848 at Ballytrue, County Armagh, IrelandG.2 He was the son of John Hampton and Mary Ann Henderson.1 He married Frances Sarah McMullen on 11 April 1878 at Christchurch, New ZealandG.3,4 He died on 29 September 1931.5 He was buried at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Old Section, Ashburton, New ZealandG, plot 409.5
     Benjamin, Sarah and James and Sarah Jane Hampton immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New ZealandG, on the ship Charlotte Jane, arriving on January 1871.6 He was a farm hand, doing cropping work in 1874 at Ashburton, New ZealandG.2 He was a farmer from 1876 to 1899 at Tinwald, Ashburton, New ZealandG.2 He was a farmer from 1899 to 1931 at Grove Farm, Wilkins Road, Tinwald, Ashburton, New ZealandG.2

     Mary Ann Hampton was born in 1850 at Ballytrue, County Armagh, IrelandG.1 She was the daughter of John Hampton and Mary Ann Henderson.1 She married John Brawley in 1877.2,3
     Mary immigrated to New ZealandG on the ship Waimate, arriving on 1875.4 From 1877, her married name became Brawley.2

     She has an extensive biographical entry in the Frances was booked to immigrate to New Zealand with her sister, Mary Anne, but she died on the eve of its departure.2

The party of six capsized, and five of them were swept out to sea and drowned..2
     Elizabeth immigrated to New ZealandG, arriving on 1903.

     Dudley Hampton was born on 3 June 1851 at Kilmore, County Armagh, IrelandG.1,2,3 He was baptized at St. Aidan's Parish Church, Kilmore, County Armagh, IrelandG, on 3 June 1851.4 He was the son of Henry Hampton and Sarah Jane Mullen.1 He married Margaret Cassidy, daughter of John Cassidy and Elizabeth Bell, on 24 November 1877 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Hospital Corner, Christchurch, New ZealandG, in a Presbyterian marriage.5,6 He died on 19 September 1919 at age 68 at Leeston, Canterbury, New ZealandG.7,8 He was buried at Ellesmere Public Cemetery, Ellesmere, Canterbury, New ZealandG, plot 661.7
