     Edward Henry Howard was born on 13 February 1829.1 He was the son of Edward Gyles Howard and Frances Anne Heneage.1 He died on 16 September 1892 at age 63.1
     He was educated at Oscott College, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 2nd Life Guards.1 He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest.1 He held the office of Archbishop of Neocaesaria in 1872.1 He held the office of Cardinal.1

     Lady Winifred Herbert was born circa 1679.2 She was the daughter of William Herbert, 1st Marquess of Powis and Lady Elizabeth Somerset.1,2 She married William Maxwell, 5th Earl of Nithsdale, son of Robert Maxwell, 4th Earl of Nithsdale and Lady Lucy Douglas, in 1699.3,2 She died in 1749.2
     From 1699, her married name became Maxwell.

     William Maxwell, Earl of Nithsdale was the son of William Maxwell, 5th Earl of Nithsdale and Lady Winifred Herbert.1 He married, firstly, Lady Catherine Stewart, daughter of Charles Stewart, 4th Earl of Traquair and Mary Maxwell, on 27 June 1731.1 He married, secondly, Anne Fox on 11 August 1767.1 He died on 2 August 1776, without male issue.1
     He was styled as Lord Maxwell.2 He styled himself as Earl of Nithsdale.1

     Lady Winifred Maxwell was born circa 1736.1 She was the daughter of William Maxwell, Earl of Nithsdale and Lady Catherine Stewart.1 She married William Constable, son of Sir Carnaby Haggerston, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Midleton, on 17 October 1758.2 She died on 13 July 1801.1
     Her married name became Constable.

     Marmaduke William Constable-Maxwell was born on 2 January 1760.2 He was the son of William Constable and Lady Winifred Maxwell.2 He married Theresa Apollonia Wakeman, daughter of Edmund Wakeman, on 26 November 1800.2 He died on 30 June 1819 at age 59.2
     He was given the name of Marmaduke Constable at birth.2 He lived at Caerlaverock Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 He lived at Everingham Park, Yorkshire, England.1

     Theresa Apollonia Wakeman was the daughter of Edmund Wakeman.1 She married Marmaduke William Constable-Maxwell, son of William Constable and Lady Winifred Maxwell, on 26 November 1800.1 She died on 8 November 1846.2
     From 26 November 1800, her married name became Constable-Maxwell.1

Catherine de Havilland1

     Catherine de Havilland was born in 1773.2 She was the daughter of Sir Peter de Havilland and Carterette Fiott.1,2 She married Thomas de Sausmarez, son of John de Sausmarez and Martha Le Marchant.1 She died in 1860.2

William Constable1

     William Constable was the son of Sir Carnaby Haggerston, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Midleton.1,2 He married Lady Winifred Maxwell, daughter of William Maxwell, Earl of Nithsdale and Lady Catherine Stewart, on 17 October 1758.2 He died on 30 June 1797.1
     He was educated at St. Omer, France.2 He was given the name of William Haggerston at birth.1 In 1746 his name was legally changed to William Constable on inheriting Everingham Park and other estates from his great-uncle, Sir Marmaduke Constable, 4th Bt.1

Charles Stewart, 4th Earl of Traquair

     Charles Stewart, 4th Earl of Traquair was born circa 1659.1 He was the son of John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Traquair and Lady Anne Seton.1 He married Mary Maxwell, daughter of Robert Maxwell, 4th Earl of Nithsdale and Lady Lucy Douglas, on 9 January 1694.1 He died on 13 June 1741.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Lord Linton and Caberston [S., 1633] before 23 December 1673.1 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Traquair [S., 1633] before 23 December 1673.1 He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1686.1 Between March 1708 and June 1708 he was remanded in custody Edinburgh Castle and interrogated in London for suspected involvement in the abortive French descent on Scotland to help the Jacobites.1
