     Alfred Grey was born on 7 February 1834.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Hon. Edward Grey and Eliza Innes.2 He married Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones, daughter of Reverend Calvert R. Jones, on 9 June 1859.1 He died on 23 September 1899 at age 65.1
     Alfred Grey gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Northumberland Militia.1
