     Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey was born on 24 March 1860.¹ He was the son of Alfred Grey and Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones.² He married Mary Isabel Cadogan, daughter of Cadogan Hodgson Cadogan, on 10 July 1901.¹ He died on 10 January 1936 at age 75.¹
     Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the service of the 6th Dragoons.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1896.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the South Rhodesian Volunteers.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Rhodesia].¹ He was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1910.¹ He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1919.¹

     Mary Isabel Cadogan was the daughter of Cadogan Hodgson Cadogan.² She married, firstly, Alexander Henry Browne before 1901.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey, son of Alfred Grey and Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones, on 10 July 1901.¹ She died on 10 October 1936.¹
     From before 1901, her married name became Browne.¹ From 10 July 1901, her married name became Grey.

     Annie Trevelyan Grey was the daughter of Alfred Grey and Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones.² She died on 3 June 1939, unmarried.¹

     Lady Hannah Althea Grey was the daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey.² She married, firstly, Captain George Edmund Byron Bettesworth on 24 August 1807.¹ She married, secondly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ellice, son of Alexander Ellice, on 30 October 1809.¹ She died on 28 July 1832.¹
     From 24 August 1807, her married name became Bettesworth. From 30 October 1809, her married name became Ellice.¹

     Captain George Edmund Byron Bettesworth was born in 1780.² He married Lady Hannah Althea Grey, daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey, on 24 August 1807.¹ He died on 25 May 1808, killed in action off Bergen, while in command of H.M.S. Tartar.¹
     Captain George Edmund Byron Bettesworth gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.¹
