General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey was born on 23 October 1729 at Howick, Northumberland, England.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Grey, 1st Bt. and Hannah Wood.2 He married Elizabeth Grey, daughter of George Grey and Elizabeth Ogle, on 8 June 1762 at Southwick, County Durham, England.1 He died on 14 November 1807 at age 78 at Howick, Northumberland, England.3
