Vincent Waldo Calmady Hamlyn was born on 6 August 1854.1 He was the son of Shilston Calmady Hamlyn and Sarah Carter.2 He married Emma Josephine Pease, daughter of Sir Joseph Whitwell Pease, 1st Bt. and Mary Fox, on 17 November 1880.3 He died on 2 September 1897 at age 43.3
Vincent Waldo Calmady Hamlyn graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1881 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal North Devon Yeomanry.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Paschoe, Bow, Devon, England.1 He lived at Leawood, Devon, England.1
