     Edward Blaise Crofton, 5th Baron Crofton of Mote was born on 31 May 1926.1 He was the son of Hon. Edward Charles Crofton and Cecilia Mabel Day.2 He married, firstly, Ann Tighe, daughter of G/Capt. Charles Herbert Tighe, on 10 June 1948.1 He and Ann Tighe were divorced in 1963.1 He married, secondly, Mary Friend, daughter of Major James Irvine Hatfield Friend, on 19 December 1964.1 He died on 13 June 1974 at age 48.1
     Edward Blaise Crofton, 5th Baron Crofton of Mote usually went by his middle name of Blaise.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Lowther-Crofton, of The Moate, co. Roscommon [I., 1758] on 15 June 1942.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baron Crofton of Mote, co. Roscommon [I., 1798] on 15 June 1942.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He retired from the military in 1947, with the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, late of the Royal Navy.1
