     George Crofton is the son of Edward Crofton and Elizabeth Mostyn.2 He married Elizabeth Berkeley, daughter of Sir Francis Berkeley and Katherine Loftus.1
     George Crofton held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Askeaton, County Limerick.1 He lived at Ballymurray, County Roscommon, Ireland.1 In 1639 he built the Castle of The Mote, County Roscommon.1
