Hugh William Mackenzie Rose was born in 1913.1 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Frank Forrester Rose and Freda Edith Gordon.1 He died on 23 October 1941, killed in action on board H.M.S. Cossack.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1938 in the service of the Royal Navy, on board H.M.S. Sheldrake.2 He fought in the Second World War.1 He wrote the book Spring Deferred, published 1945 at London, England, published by EME Rose.2
