     Lt.-Col. Alexander William Edward Kirkpatrick is the son of Sir Cyril Reginald Sutton Kirkpatrick. He married Gytha Primrose Harrison on 21 May 1942.
     He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.1
