     Sir John Melville, 4th of Raith was the son of John Melville, younger of Raith.1 He married, firstly, unknown daughter Wemyss, daughter of Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss, circa July 1503.2 He married, secondly, Helen Napier, daughter of Sir Alexander Napier, 5th of Merchistoun and Janet Chisholm, circa 1525.3,2 He died on 13 December 1548, executed for treason.1
     He held the office of Captain-General of Dunbar Castle.3 He held the office of Master-General of Ordnance.3 He lived at Raith, Fife, ScotlandG.3

Joseph Henderson Singer and Mary Crofton, on 28 April 1857 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. She died in 1908 at Havant, Hampshire, England.1
