Sir William George Granville Harcourt was born on 14 October 1827.1 He was the son of Reverend William Harcourt and Matilda Mary Gooch.1 He married, firstly, Maria Theresa Lister, daughter of Thomas Henry Lister and Lady Maria Theresa Villiers, on 5 November 1859.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Cabot Motley, daughter of Hon. John Lothrop Motley, on 2 December 1876.1 He died on 1 October 1904 at age 76.1

     Maria Theresa Lister was the daughter of Thomas Henry Lister and Lady Maria Theresa Villiers. She married Rt. Hon. Sir William George Granville Harcourt, son of Reverend William Harcourt and Matilda Mary Gooch, on 5 November 1859.1 She died on 1 February 1863.1
     Her married name became Harcourt.

     Thomas Henry Lister was born in 1800.2 He was the son of Thomas Lister and Harriet Anne Searle.3,4 He married Lady Maria Theresa Villiers, daughter of Hon. George Villiers and Hon. Theresa Parker, on 6 November 1830.1 He died on 5 June 1842.1
     He wrote the book Granby, published 1826.3 He lived at Armytage Park, Staffordshire, EnglandG.1

Theresa Parker.2 She married, firstly, Thomas Henry Lister, son of Thomas Lister and Harriet Anne Searle, on 6 November 1830.1 She married, secondly, Rt. Hon. Sir George Cornewall Lewis, 2nd Bt. on 25 October 1844.1 She died on 9 November 1865.1
     From 6 November 1830, her married name became Lister. In February 1839 she was granted the rank of an earl's daughter.2 Her married name became Lewis.

     Mary Ethel Burns was the daughter of Walter Hayes Burns. She married Lewis Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt, son of Rt. Hon. Sir William George Granville Harcourt and Maria Theresa Lister, on 1 July 1899.1 She died on 7 January 1961.
     She was appointed Dame of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Oxfordshire.1 Her married name became Harcourt. After her marriage, Mary Ethel Burns was styled as Viscountess Harcourt on 3 January 1917. She was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1918.1
