     William Edward Harcourt, 2nd Viscount Harcourt was born on 5 October 1908.3 He was the son of Lewis Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt and Mary Ethel Burns.3 He married Hon. Maud Elizabeth Grosvenor, daughter of Francis Egerton Grosvenor, 4th Baron Ebury of Ebury Manor and Mary Adela Glasson, on 1 June 1931.3 He and Hon. Maud Elizabeth Grosvenor were divorced before 1942.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Sonia Snagge, daughter of Sir Harold Edward Snagge and Inez Alfreda Lubbock, on 23 January 1946.1 He died on 3 January 1979 at age 70.3,4
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Nuneham, of Nuneham-Courtenay, co. Oxford [U.K., 1917] on 24 February 1922.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Harcourt, of Stanton Harcourt, co.
