     Venerable Edward Synge was born in 1726.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Nicholas Synge and Elizabeth Trench.1 He married Sophia Helen Maria Hutchinson, daughter of Rt. Rev. Samuel Hutchinson, in February 1753.2 He died on 9 October 1792.1
     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.).2 He held the office of Archdeacon of Killala.2 He lived at Syngefield, County Offaly, Ireland.2
