     James Calcraft Dudley Ryder was born on 19 May 1934.1 He is the son of Major Dudley Claud Douglas Ryder and Nancy Edith Baker.1 He married, firstly, Sarah Victoria Bircham, daughter of Michael Guy Bircham, on 9 July 1966.1 He and Sarah Victoria Bircham were divorced in 1979.1 He married, secondly, Georgina Susan Farnham, daughter of Edward George Adrian Farnham, in 1984.1
     James Calcraft Dudley Ryder was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England.1 He was educated at Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the King's Own Royal Regiment.1 He lived in 2003 at Rempstone Hall, Corfe Castle, Dorset, England.1

     Mary Davenport was the daughter of William Davenport.1 She married Sir Morton Edward Manningham-Buller, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Edward Manningham-Buller, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Manningham, on 12 February 1863.1 She died on 12 October 1923.1
     From 12 February 1863, her married name became Buller-Yarde-Buller. From 1866, her married name became Manningham-Buller.1
