Jane Aberdein was the daughter of Alexander Aberdein of Cairnbulg.1 She married David Dalrymple, Lord Westhall, son of Hew Dalrymple, Lord Drunmore and Anne Horn, in 1761.1 She died on 23 April 1780.1

Sir John MacKenzie of Coul, 3rd Bt. is the son of Sir Alexander Mackenzie of Coul, 2nd Bt. and Jean Gordon.2 He married Margaret Rose, daughter of Hugh Rose, 15th of Kilravock and Margaret Campbell, on 4 February 1701.3 He married, secondly, Helen Murray, daughter of Patrick Murray, 3rd Lord Elibank and Anne Burnet, on 13 August 1703.1 He died, two daughters without male issue.4
He gained the title of 3rd Baronet MacKenzie.1 In 1716 attainted as a Jacobite.4
