George Murray, 6th Lord Elibank was born in 1706. He was the son of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling. He married, firstly, Maria Margaretta de Yong, daughter of Cornelius de Yong, Lord of Elmeet, in 1735.1 He married Lady Isabella Mackenzie, daughter of George Mackenzie, 3rd Earl of Cromarty and Isabel Gordon, on 8 January 1760.2 He died on 12 November 1785.

Alexander Murray, 7th Baron Elibank was born on 24 April 1747. He was the son of Reverend Gideon Murray and Elizabeth Montolieu. He married, firstly, Mary Clara Montolieu, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lewis Charles Montolieu, Baron de St. Hypolite, on 20 May 1776. He married, secondly, Catherine Steuart, daughter of James Steuart, in 1804. He died on 24 September 1820 at age 73.
