Emma de Laval was born between 1197 and 1198. She was the daughter of Guy VI de Laval and Havoise de Craon. She married, firstly, Robert II d'Alençon, Comte d'Alençon, son of Jean III de Ponthieu, Comte d'Alençon and Beatrix de Maine, before 1215. She married, secondly, Mathieu de Montmorency before July 1218. She married, thirdly, Jean de Toucy in 1231. She died on 24 April 1264.1

Brigidair Sir Jeffrey Lionel Darell, 8th Bt. was born on 2 October 1919.3 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Guy Marsland Darell and Esmé Violet Savile.2 He married Bridget Mary Adair, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Allan Henry Shafto Adair, 6th Bt., on 30 June 1953.3
Brigidair Sir Jeffrey Lionel Darell, 8th Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.3 He fought in the Second World War.4 He was involved in the Coats Mission (protection of Royal Family in case of invasion) between 1940 and 1941.3 He lived in 1942 Aide-de-Camp to the General-Officer-in-Charge of Southern Command.5 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.3 He gained the rank of Brigade Major between 1951 and 1953 in the service of the Guards Brigade.3 He was Brigadier of the 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards between 1957 and 1959.5 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Darell, of Ancaster House, Richmond Hill, Surrey [G.B., 1795] on 10 February 1959.6 He was the College Commander between 1961 and 1964 at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.5 He was Colonel of the Coldsteam Guards and Reigmental District between 1964 and 1965.5 He was Brigadier of the 56 Infantry (London) Brigade, Territorial Army between 1965 and 1968.5 He was Commandant between 1970 and 1973 at Mons Officer Cadet School.5 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Elizabeth II between 1973 and 1974.5 He held the office of High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1985.5 He lived in 2003 at Denton Lodge, Harleston, Norfolk, England.3
