     Commander Sir Archibald Richard James Southby, 1st Bt. was born on 8 July 1886.¹ He was the son of Richard Southby and Hon. Isabella Hewitt Lifford.² He married Phyllis Mary Garton, daughter of Charles Henry Garton, on 20 July 1909.¹ He and Phyllis Mary Garton were divorced in 1962. He married, secondly, Noreen Vera Simm, daughter of Bernard Compton Simm, on 28 March 1962.      He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) –47, Assist Government Whip 1931–35, a Lord Commissioner of Treasury 1935–37, HG WW II, memb Parly Delegn to Buchenwald Concentration Camp April 1945, Yr Bro Trin House 1944, Chev Legion Honour Epsom 1928.¹ He was educated Brandon House Sch Cheltenham and HMS Britannia.¹ He gained the title of 1st Baronet Southby. He was Commander Royal Navy (ret ) WW I, Flag Lieutenant and Flag Lieutenant-Commander Grand Fleet and N America and WI Station 1913–18, memb Allied Naval Armistice Commn 1918–19 and Naval Inter-Allied Commn of Control 1919–20 in 1920.¹ He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) (Surrey and Oxon 1938–46) in 1927.¹ He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) Surrey in 1933.¹ On 12 June 1937 so created.¹ He lived in 2003 at 18 Harbour View Rd, Parkstone, Dorset BH14 0PE, ZZZ.¹

     Phyllis Mary Garton is the daughter of Charles Henry Garton. She married Commander Sir Archibald Richard James Southby, 1st Bt., son of Richard Southby and Hon. Isabella Hewitt Lifford, on 20 July 1909.¹ She and Commander Sir Archibald Richard James Southby, 1st Bt. were divorced in 1962. She died on 25 April 1974, aged 87.¹
     She lived Banstead Wood.¹ Surrey.¹ Her married name became Southby.

     Richard Henry Alexander Southby was born on 4 August 1941.¹ He is the son of Lt.-Cdr. Patrick Henry James Southby and Lady Anne Adeline Hope. He married Nicola Claire Wallop Portsmouth, daughter of Jonathan Janson (see Portsmouth, on 13 April 1985.¹
     He graduated with a Eton and Worcester College Oxford Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He lived in 2003 at The Red House, Overbury, Glos GL20 7PB, ZZZ.¹

     Mary Anne Southby was born on 1 August 1946.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Cdr. Patrick Henry James Southby and Lady Anne Adeline Hope. She married Martin Robert Kenyon, son of William Patrick Kenyon and Joan Mary Batchelor, on 6 March 1975.¹ She and Martin Robert Kenyon were divorced.¹
     She was Benenden and Courtauld Institute London U.¹ Married 2nd 19– •Evan Sutherland, and by her 1st husband has issue.¹ From 6 March 1975, her married name became Kenyon.

     Noreen Vera Simm is the daughter of Bernard Compton Simm. She married Commander Sir Archibald Richard James Southby, 1st Bt., son of Richard Southby and Hon. Isabella Hewitt Lifford, on 28 March 1962.

      Her married name became Bridges.¹

     Lady Joan Isabella Hope was born on 21 September 1915.¹ She is the daughter of Victor Alexander John Hope, 2nd Marquess of Linlithgow and Doreen Maud Milner.¹ She married Colonel Ian William Gore-Langton, son of Major Francis Wilfred Gore-Langton, on 22 April 1952.¹
      Her married name became Gore-Langton.

     Colonel Ian William Gore-Langton was the son of Major Francis Wilfred Gore-Langton.¹ He married Lady Joan Isabella Hope, daughter of Victor Alexander John Hope, 2nd Marquess of Linlithgow and Doreen Maud Milner, on 22 April 1952.¹ He died on 28 July 2003.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Coldstream Guards.¹ He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.).¹
